2.- THE HUNT:

Wild Turkey GOULD. We hunt the gobbler in the state of Aguascalientes, in the center of Mexico, inside of a protected area of 106,000 hectares (270,000 acres). "Rancho La Cienega"  has 334 hectares (825 acres) but the hunting is made in more than 5,000 hectares authorized by the government.A typical hunt for Gould's consists of seven individual outings. One on the first afternoon. Two on subsequent days (one in the morning, one in the afternoon). We hunt from confortable blinds, either elevated or on the ground. At times, to get that reluctant trophy,  going after him and set up a portable blind on the run. The guides are all expert callers and will call your GOULD into shooting range if you don't want to do it by yourself. We can arrange it to all individual preferences. The overall itinerary is as follows: Sunday's  we pick you up at the Aguascalientes Airport and taken to the Hunting Lodge. Next morning, after a (5:30 am) breakfast and we drive from the lodge to  the mountains, ready to hunt. After lunch at 1 pm, we go on the next outing and we continue hunting until the final day, also on Thursday morning, if it'd be necessary.
Early, on Fridays, we'll drive back to the hotel or directly to the airport for your trip back home.

3.- TO GET HERE: The best way to get directly to Aguascalientes Airport is by AEROMEXICO from LOS ANGELES; from DALLAS by AMERICAN AIRLINES; or from HOUSTON by CONTINENTAL AIRLINES. Ohter airlines also fly to Mexico City first.

FIREARMS: WE RECOMMEND NOT BRINGING YOUR FIREARMS or SHELLS, as the importation process is difficult and complicated. We will loan you an automatic or pump shotgun and shells at the camp. But, in case you wish to bring your own shotgun, you need to get a Temporary Gun Import Permit. For this, you need to get a Consulate Letter at the Mexican Consulate, which must be mailed to us as soon as possible.

PLEASE CHECK PERFECTLY YOUR BELONGINGS NOT BRINGING SHELLS INSIDE.

4.-PAPER WORK & SOME CONSIDERATIONS

TO IMPORT YOUR BIRD INTO THE STATES YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING:

1.- Our hunters need to sign a Hunting Agreement  (Contract) with us (we supplied it) and an ID  with photography or passport copy, is required.

2.- The Tag is provided by SEMARNAT mexican authorities to us and we'll attached to the Turkey's leg after the hunt.

3.- We'll supply & fill the 3-177 form from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. This form is required for all importation of wildlife. By our experience the Houston Airport customs agents are friendly than other entries, and they will review the turkey as the forms closely.

4.- You must contact the information for USDA approved Taxidermist  and the one to have written out in advance a letter to show it to the Custom Agent.  ( https://tinyurl.com/y56ofvez )
